President's Message
Dear Guild Members,
Thank you to everyone who has renewed their membership using our new rolling sign-up system. We believe this change will make the process more efficient and convenient for both our members and our Membership Committee. You will receive a renewal notice approximately one year from your sign-up date.
I have found it challenging to put words to paper during a time when the events unfolding in our country and around the world weigh heavily on us all. The tragic moments we encounter daily in the news remind us of the importance of remaining thoughtful, aware, and compassionate—as Americans and as human beings. They also remind us to pause, reflect, and move forward with intention, much like the spirit reflected in the Venerable Monks’ Walk for Peace.
As artists, asking questions and solving problems is central to what we do. Some of us do this by creating beauty—drawing from nature, light, and the wonder of the world around us. Others do it by making bold statements, combining visual elements in ways that challenge perceptions and invite deeper reflection. Neither approach is better than the other. Art is experienced differently by every viewer, just as it is created differently by every artist.
What unites us is our commitment to being true to ourselves and to our individual creative visions. The Guild of Charlotte Artists does not engage in politics or promote specific socio-political viewpoints. Instead, we come together to support one another, share ideas, and celebrate the power of creative expression.
We make art.
Thank you for being creative and sharing your creativity with us.

I am a self-taught Egyptian mixed media contemporary abstract artist. I moved to Charlotte last year after spending 16 years in London.
My work explores emotion, memory and culture identity through texture, color and layered composition. I most recently completed a solo exhibition in November 2025 at the Artisan's Palate in NODA.

My roots have always been in the arts. My grandfather was a Polish classical music composer. My grandmother was a sculptor and painter. My father was a well-known jingle-writer and my mother was a professional ballet dancer.
My art is mainly mixed-media abstract expressionism. My work comes from the heart; not at all from the thinking mind. I gravitate intuitively to color and texture that speaks to me at the moment I am in. My intention with each work is that the viewer will feel and experience the energy from which each piece was created.
